Fresh, crisp and satisfying - grab these quick natural ingredients and toss up a quick tasty treat. Recipe and photo courtesy of Kale and Chocolate.


  • 2 apples, cored & sliced into rounds or thin wedges

  • ¼ cup nut butter, warmed - divide in half if adding melted chocolate too

  • ¼ cup dark chocolate or chocolate chips (here's our fave), melted - divide in half if using nut butter too

Topping ideas:

  • granola

  • shredded coconut

  • freeze dried berries

  • dried fruit (cranberries, cherries, raisins, goji berries)

  • nuts (sliced almonds, chopped walnuts, chopped pecans, crushed pistachios)

  • seeds (hemp, flax, sunflower, pumpkin)

  • dash of cinnamon



  1. Slice and core the apples into rounds or thin wedges.

  2. Melt the chocolate. 

  3. Warm the nut butter.

  4. Spread the apple slices or rounds onto a plate.

  5. Drizzle the melted chocolate and warmed nut butter.  

  6. Add toppings of choice and eat immediately!
